How to Transfer Data from Android or iPhone to Moto X/G/E

Upgrading to a new Motorola phone like Moto X/G/E is really exciting. But one of the biggest pains of setting up a new phone is transferring your old data to it. How to make this? Take it easy. Motorola has developed a free data transfer tool - Motorola Migrate - to help you transfer data from Android/iPhone to your new Motorola phone in just a few steps. It empowers you to move all your old stuff including SIM contacts, call history, texts, videos, photos, music and more.

Part 1: Transfer Data from Android to Motorola
1. Download and install the Motorola Migrate app on both your old Android and new Motorola phones. Make sure that both phones have been connected to Wi-Fi hotspot.
2. Run Motorola Migrate app on your new Moto phone and tap on Send data To this device > Android, then tap on Next to move to the page of Get your stuff. Here select the file types that you want to transfer, then tap on Next
3. Now tap on Press here > Next, there will be a QR code on the screen of your Moto phone. Then go to your old Android phone and run Motorola Migrate app. Hit Next and hold your old Android phone over the new Moto phone with the QR code showing in the blue square. The app will connect the two phones and start transferring.

Part 2: Transfer Data from iPhone to Motorola
1. On your old iPhone, go to Settings > iCloud to sync your contacts and calendar events to iCloud. If you've done it before, just skip this step.
2. Download, install and Motorola Migrate on your new Motorola phone. Run the app and select iPhone as the source device, and then tap on Start.
3. Enter your iCloud ID and Password on your Moto phone and tap Next. Then tap on Begin Transfer to move on.
4. Now login into your Google account and tap on Next, the migration will begin automatically.

Write In the End
Motorola Migrate is really a helpful tool to move data from old smartphone to your new Motorola phone. However, it's regrettable that Motorola decided to retire the Migrate application as of Droid Turbo 2, Droid Maxx 2, Moto X Force, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. What a pity! In such case, we suggest you use Jihosoft Phone Data Transfer. It is a great alternative to Motorola Migrate, which can help you transfer contacts, text messages, photos, videos, music and more from both Android and iPhone to your new Moto X Force, Droid Turbo 2, etc.
