How to Transfer WhatsApp Chats History to Your New Android Phone

Way 1: Create Backup and Move to New Android

1. Back up your WhatsApp chats on your old Android phone: Go to WhatsApp > Menu Button > Settings > Chats and calls > Back up chats or Chat backup.
2. Transfer the WhatsApp backup to your new Android phone: transfer the /sdcard/WhatsApp/Database folder from your old Android phone to the same folder of your new Android phone on your computer via USB connection.
3. Once you have safely transferred your backup, install WhatsApp on your new Android phone.
4. Now start WhatsApp on your new Android phone and verify your phone number. You should get a notification that a message backup was found. Just tap Restore. Once the restore is done, all your old WhatsApp chats should appear on your new Android device. 

Way 2: Use Google Drive Backups

1. Back up WhatsApp chats on old Android phone to Google Drive: Go to WhatsApp > Menu Button > Settings > Chats and calls > Chat backup. Tap on Back up to Google Drive and set up the backup frequency. Then tap on Back Up to begin your Google Drive backup.
2. Restore Google Drive backup to your new Android phone: Uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp on your new Android phone and make sure the same Google account used to create the backup has been added to the phone. After verify your phone number, you will be prompted to restore your messages and media from Google Drive.

Way 3: Use Android WhatsApp Transfer Tool

1. Download and install Android WhatsApp Transfer software on your computer. Run the program and connect both your Android phones to the computer via USB cables.
2. The software will automatically read all WhatsApp chats messages from the two devices and display them in details.
3. Click the old Android phone in Devices list you want to transfer WhatsApp messages from. Then choose Transfer Messages from Android to Android.
4. Click the new Android phone in Devices list you want to transfer WhatsApp messages to. Click Confirm, all your old Android WhatsApp chat history will be transferred and merged to the new Android device quickly.
